Solar panel lifts
The new CSA- and OSHA-Compliant Easi-Dec Solar Platform from Kee Safety in Concord, Ont., is an engineered hoist for lifting solar panels to the roof of single and two-story buildings, while providing installers with a fully-guarded work station. Designed for smaller, thermal solar installations, and featuring a lifting capacity of 75kg (165 lbs.), the new Easi-Dec Solar Platform can be assembled from the ground up by two workers in less than 10 minutes and then easily lifted into position, the company said. With a load rating of 340kg (750 lbs.) evenly distributed, the assembled system measures  two meters (6-1/2-ft.) long by 3/4 meters (2-1/2-ft.) deep and is supported by adjustable telescopic legs. Corrosion-resistant aluminum safety railings on the Easi-Dec Solar Platform are fitted with Kee Lite aluminum safety components and toe boards. The system complies with CSA Z 797.09 and REG 213/91 for construction of scaffolds, as well as ANSI A10.8, ANSI/ASSE A14.2, and OSHA 1926.451 in the USA. The new Easi-Dec Solar Platform saves a significant amount of time compared to building scaffolds and offers greater versatility, according to Kee Safety. The Solar Platform includes a cushioned rolling bar for positioning over windows and to provide continuous platform support for load distribution on vinyl siding, cedar shingles and exterior insulation. The lightweight system can be disassembled quickly after use and easily transported in a cargo van or on a truck rack.
