The Blind Flange Lockout Device provides a secure, highly adaptable and cost-effective option for protecting employees from hazardous energy. The device provides a physical barrier that helps prevent unintentional removal of the blind until all maintenance is completed and each worker has removed their personal safety padlock. It’s also designed to give workers confidence they are protected from risks of accidental exposure to chemicals, flammable gasses, oil and other hazards that could flow in the pipeline. This device is a great example of a product that fulfills an important need for pipeline maintenance, and addresses compliance issues at the same time, says the manufacturer. The Blind Flange Lockout Device is constructed from durable aluminum with a hardened steel slide bar for indoor and outdoor use. It can withstand harsh conditions, performing in temperatures ranging from -40 to 200 F. It also adjusts to various pipe dimensions for a tight and proper fit. The product conforms to multiple flanged pipe applications, and is designed to fully conceal the flange nuts to prevent access to the blind until all of the work is completed. With four locking holes, multiple workers can apply their padlock to the device at the same time. The product is available in three sizes to cover and lockout nut diameters from 3/4” to 2-3/4”.
