IWH urges Ontario firms to participate in OHS leading indicators study

The Institute for Work and Health (IWH) is looking for more Ontario companies to participate in a new research project aimed at developing health and safety leading indicators.
Dubbed the 5,000 Firms Study, the project hopes to identify and assess organizational measures that allow workplaces to gauge health and safety performance before injuries and illnesses occur.

Ontario firms are encouraged to participate in the study by completing a 15-minute online survey. Companies that participate in the survey will receive a report benchmarking their results against other organizations in the province — or against other organizations in their sector, if the numbers permit, according to the IWH.

Deadline for participation is May 31, 2012.

The Institute for Work and Health is a not-for-profit research organization based in Toronto.
