Manitoba construction worker dies from workplace-related injuries

VICTORIA BEACH, Man. — A 23-year-old man has been killed on the job in Victoria Beach, Man., according to the RCMP. It was reported that the incident happened when Michael Mooney of Winnipeg was working with three other males trying to jack up a cottage structure.
While underneath the frame of the cottage with two other co-workers, the structure began to slide and collapse, pinning the young man underneath.

The two others were not injured.

Investigators from Manitoba Labour, Workplace Safety and Health are assisting with the investigation.
