The webinar provides an overview of CSA Z462 Workplace Electrical Safety terminology and processes. The session features how CSA Z462 compliments Canadian occupational health and safety regulatory requirements.

Learn about the most notable changes in the 2012 edition of CSA Z462. The webinar discusses recommendations to enhance electrical safety and arc flash hazard mitigation solutions.

About the speaker:

Daniel Roberts is the national safety manager for Schneider Electric Canada's Services and Projects Division. His effectiveness as an electrical safety instructor is based on the wide-ranging experience he brings to the classroom:

•15 years of field experience in industrial and commercial power distribution systems
•Over 10 years experience in occupational health and safety
•A member of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE)
•A senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE)

Daniel serves on various CSA standards committees including:

•Canadian Electrical Code Part I Technical Committee
•Z462 Workplace Electrical Safety Technical Committee vice-chair
•Z1001 Occupational Health and Safety Training Technical Committee
•Z1002 Occupational Health and Safety Risk Management Technical Committee

Daniel has contributed several articles on the topic of electrical safety to trade specific magazines such as Electrical Business, Ontario Electrical League, Canadian Occupational Safety, and Occupational Health and Safety. His peer reviewed article on Risk Management of Electrical Hazards will appear in the May/June 2013 issue of the IEEE Industry Applications Magazine.
