18-gauge arc flash glove

Superior Glove’s 18-gauge arc flash-rated glove is made with DuPont Kevlar and combines the high dexterity of an 18-gauge yarn with an arc flash level 2 rating.

"We strive to create innovative safety products that are comfortable to wear," said Superior Glove president Tony Geng. "This glove has been in development for a while, so this is very exciting for us."

There were 13,000 arc flash-related incidents in 2013, 400 of which resulted in fatality, said Superior Glove. These incidents are preventable with the right precautions and the proper personal protective equipment. Superior Glove says it introduced the 18-gauge arc flash glove with the aim to increase worker safety and protection.

The soft and comfortable neoprene palm coating is flame resistant and provides excellent grip, making these gloves perfect for the oil and gas industry where protection from flash fire is critical.

The glove also meets ANSI cut-level A3 and is touchscreen compatible.
