RAE Systems launches gas monitor trio PDF Print E-mail
Gas Detection

RAE Systems Inc. introduces the ToxiRAE 3 series of single-gas monitors, consisting of three models: hydrogen sulfide (H2S), high-range and low-range carbon monoxide (CO). RAE Systems claims ToxiRAE 3 offers the fastest instrument response time in a single gas monitor, and features end-user configurable operating modes and multi-phase alarms for Short Term Exposure Limit, Time Weighted Average exposure and high/low alarms. ToxiRAE 3 is enclosed in a rugged stainless steel cover to withstand dirty industrial environments, the company says. Working together with ToxiRAE 3 is RAE System’s new AutoRAE Lite bump test and calibration station, which offers quick and easy checking for proper alarm levels and calibration as necessary, the company says.

Centralized gas sampling PDF Print E-mail
Gas Detection
The MultiGard Gas Sampling System is ideal for HVAC applications, according to MultiGard maker MSA. It uses a common set of analyzers for up to 32 locations and detects CO, NO2, O2 and refrigerant gases, the company says. The samples are delivered to up to four sensors or analyzers. Time-sharing is enabled with the central analyzers, effectively reducing installation, operational and maintenance costs by eliminating multiple systems, MSA says. The MultiGard system also features a touch-screen panel display for easy set up and directly connects to Allen-Bradley’s Ethernet or Data Highway Plus networks, the company says. www.msagasdetection.com

Lightweight blasting helmet tough and comfortable PDF Print E-mail
Head Protection

Allegro says its new Nova 2000 and Astro blasting helmets offer workers more comfort, less fatigue and will improve productivity. The company says the Nova 2000 is made of UV stabilized and abrasion-resistant high-density polyethylene that meets the penetration requirements of ANSI 289.1. The helmet offers premium comfort with its lightweight foam padding that is easily removed for cleaning. The company says air duct distribution diffuses breathing air evenly throughout the helmet, with the added benefit of preventing the viewing lens from fogging. A multi-layered sound-deadening foam makes this one of the quietest blasting helmets on the market, says the company. For more information, visit: www.allegrosafety.com.

Redesigned earplugs provide better fit and comfort PDF Print E-mail
Hearing protection

Howard Leight says it redesigned and updated its AirSoft multiple-use earplugs. Introduced nearly 30 years ago, AirSoft was the first earplug to use an internal air pocket. The company says its updated AirSoft includes new material, new design features and new engineering technologies that provide better fit, comfort and performance. The new design incorporates a series of patented, noise-blocking fins within the pocket. As the air pocket compresses in the ear canal, these fins interweave to create a noise-blocking barrier optimized to the wearer’s ear canal. The company replaced the original PVC material in AirSoft with a more user-friendly TPE which also increases comfort, especially during long-time wear, says the company. AirSoft is available in corded and uncorded versions, and at NRR 27, AirSoft provides the industry’s highest attenuation available in a multiple-use earplug, says the company.
