Ergonomic and Repetitive Strain Controls
Capital Safety’s DBI-SALA ExoFit XP Arc Flash Harness with Velcro Strap features a lightweight nylon web with ergonomic shoulder and leg padding from Nomex/Kevlar, providing a comfortable fit for the worker, the company says. The ExoFit Arc Flash Harness is designed for use by the utility industry in high voltage environments. New glove offers no-slick grip PDF Print E-mail
Ergonomic and Repetitive Strain Controls
Ansell Healthcare says its recently launched HyFlex 11-920 glove is ideal for people handling slightly oily metal components who need a secure grip for safety and performance. The company says HyFlex 11-920’s oil-repellent coating offers workers a combination of controlled grip and continued clean hands without compromising dexterity and overall comfort. HyFlex features Ansell’s Grip Technology, an ergonomic grip design that gives users greater grip control while reducing the risk of carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) and workplace accidents, the company says. CTS is a type of repetitive strain injury commonly caused by repetitive hand movements, such as those in assembly line, sorting, packing or construction. Ansell says its Grip Technology allows microscopic channels in the glove coating to guide away the oil and moisture resulting in a secure glove-to-surface contact.

Let us kneel! PDF Print E-mail
Ergonomic and Repetitive Strain Controls
If your job requires kneeling for long periods of time, kneepads with silica inserts may be the right protection for you. According to Allegro Industries, its Gel MaxKnee and Gel FlexKnee with silica insert provide maximum comfort and kneecap protection for workers. Gel MaxKnee is designed with a hard ABS kneecap and has two adjustable elastic straps with Velco closure. Designed with large abrasion-resistant rubber cap, Gel FlexKnee’s silica insert cushions and protects the kneecap by dispersing pressure that can build from long periods of kneeling, says Allegro. Gel FlexKnee features an inch-and-a-half nylon-reinforced elastic dual straps and Velcro closures. Allegro says its kneepads are manufactured specifically for harsh or delicate surfaces, high-temperature environments, and places where rugged durability is important.

First Aid Equipment

Powerheart G3 Plus AED (automated external defibrillator) offers a combination of reliability, ease-of-use and advanced technology features, according to the product’s manufacturer Cardiac Science. Powerheart features the new Rescue Coach intuitive voice prompts, which guide the first aid attendant through the rescue process, providing instructions aligned with the AHA/ERC 2005 Guidelines, the company says. Rescue Coach was designed using the results of a human behaviour study, Cardiac Science says. Powerheart also features Rescue Ready, a daily, weekly and monthly self-test system that validates reliability and ensures that critical components such as pads, battery and internal circuitry are always in working order, the company says. The AED also includes non-polarized defibrillation pads to simplify the placement process, as either pad can be placed in the upper right chest or lower left chest area, the company says.

Transmitter keeps going and going PDF Print E-mail
Signs, Labels and Signals

Encon Safety Products’ most recent wireless monitoring systems for eye wash stations offer wireless sensing, and both wired and wireless communications, according to the company. The rugged sensor device features easy-to-attach mounting fixtures, detecting vibration, temperature, pressure, current and humidity, Encon says. An integrated sleek, weatherproof digital databus with visual on/off indicator contains factory-embedded calibration and unit-of-measurement information. The company claims the sensors can be assigned specific identification labels. A unique sensor IP address is pre-assigned when the product is shipped, Encon says. As the transmitter is only activated when it connects with the sensor, the transmitter’s battery life can run for up to two years, the company says.
