The search for Canada's 2008 Safety Leader of the Year is on!
All too often, safety managers and leaders are unrecognized for their work in the private and public sector in Canada. With responsibility for an ever-growing list of occupational health concerns and government legislation related to health and safety, the work done each day by a safety professional is broad, but rarely celebrated.
That's why Canadian Occupational Safety Magazine launched its Safety Manager of the Year award in 2006. We want to find the individual who best exemplifies leadership and vision in the world of occupational health and safety in Canada.
In 2008, we are broadening and renaming the award to Safety Leader of the Year, to ensure that Canada's safety leaders — regardless of their specific job title — have the chance to be recognized.
Do you work with someone who motivates and mentors staff and provides inspiration on the job? Do you know a colleague who has completed a unique initiative that has produced benefit not only to the workers the program was designed for, but the entire company? If your answer to these questions is 'Yes' then we'd like to hear from you.
Please use the nomination form to tell us more about your chosen candidate. Let our judges know why your nominee deserves to be the next Safety Leader of the Year.
Nomination deadline is August 25, 2008. So submit your entry today!
