CHARLO, N.B. — A young man working at a welding company in northern New Brunswick has died after a forklift fell on him Tuesday.
WorkSafeNB spokeswoman Beverly Stears says 19-year-old Elvy Bernard was working at Design Built Mechanical Inc. in Charlo when the accident happened shortly before 8:30 a.m.

RCMP say the forklift toppled over when it hit another forklift in the storage yard behind the business.

The safety agency says the man was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.

The RCMP and WorkSafeNB's health and safety officers are investigating.
