Saskatchewan seeks feedback on Workers' Compensation Act review report

The Government of Saskatchewan is asking stakeholders to provide feedback on the Workers' Compensation Act Committee of Review report, which contains 57 recommendations for changes to the workers' compensation system in Saskatchewan. Consultations are currently taking place and will end March 5, 2012.

An Ontario Justice of the Peace has fined a Hamilton, Ont.-based company $55,000 after a conveyor accident that left one of its workers severely injured.
Gates Canada Inc., an Alberta automotive part manufacturer, was fined for a violation of the province's Occupational Health and Safety Act.

CD manufacturer fined $55K for machine-related injury

Cinram International Inc., an international maker of CDs and DVDs, was fined $55,000 yesterday for a violation of the Occupational Health and Safety Act after a worker was severely injured.
